Objectives
The SERREE industry cluster is based on global best-practice industry cluster development practice, and:
- facilitates links and synergies between and across the region’s broad diversity of renewable energy stakeholders – governments, business and industry, research and education, and communities to enhance the growth of the renewable energy industry and thus to bring regional/ economic development benefit to the south east NSW- ACT region
- progresses a government policy focus and alignment that provides a strong and stable renewable energy environment for industry development
- has helped build a robust renewable energy industry capacity that attracts and sustains a strong flow of new project investment into the SERREE Region
- includes significant local content in regional infrastructure projects to leverage economic development across the SERREE Region - business growth, business diversity, and job opportunities
- aims to assist the development of a regional workforce with the necessary skills and capacity to service the current and developing renewable energy industry requirements
- supports research that leads the world in the development and deployment of innovative renewable energy technologies and underpins export potential
- promotes engaged communities with a good understanding of, and appreciation for renewable energy, and supporting equitable shared benefit schemes
- makes available an exemplar model for developing a region of renewable energy excellence.
