CIT to host Canberra ZeroCO2 Renewable Energy and Sustainability Forum

5 March 2019

Join Canberra Institute of Technology and partners as we host the first Canberra ZeroCO2 Renewable Energy and Sustainability Forum. This forum will showcase leading industry and academic experts as they discuss key issues facing climate change, the environment and community.

Speakers will outline the issues, the technological responses and the applications that individuals can adopt in their own lives and work. A full list of speakers is on the CIT website and details on their topic will be released shortly.

Running parallel to the Industry forum is the CIT Renewable Energy Hackathon, which is in partnership with the Canberra Innovation Network.
As the National leader in renewable energy generation, Canberra is on track to transition to 100 percent renewable energy by 2020. In response to the growing social and environmental concerns about the impact of climate change, further plans have been developed to reduce the ACT’s total carbon emissions to net zero by 2045.

Achieving this will require a dramatic change in consumer habits and will require new innovative solutions to taper off the territory's reliance on fossil fuels in the energy intensive transport sector and natural gas in the domestic and commercial sectors.

Date: 5-6 March

Location: Renewable Energy Skills Training Centre (K Block), CIT Bruce
