Austrade Energy Mission to Vietnam 2018

21 May 2018

Reliable energy supply is critical to the socio-economic development of Vietnam. By 2035 Vietnam’s energy demand will rise to 54 million tonnes of oil equivalent (TOE) and this rising demand places significant pressure on the sustainable and safe development of the energy sector. This offers a wide range of opportunities for Australian companies, including the supply of technological solutions and equipment, consulting services, engineering and design services, as well as associated infrastructure for coal and LNG, environmental and water management.

As countries with complementary economies and special interests in Energy, Australia and Vietnam have built strong relationships over the years through comprehensive partnerships in the industry. Austrade has been working actively in the sector to promote trade and investment linkages, as well as policy dialogues, through various successful business missions, ministerial visits and technical discussions, with strong support from both countries’ governments.

This energy mission will promote Australia’s expertise and showcase solutions to Vietnam’s energy challenges. Australia will demonstrate how it can assist Vietnam to achieve energy security, through its capabilities in coal and LNG supply, engineering and consulting services for construction and operation of bulk commodity ports and LNG terminals and renewable energy.

Join our mission to understand how the Vietnamese Government is addressing these issues and how we see opportunities from this emerging market. There will be a high-level policy dialogue providing insights about the Vietnam’s energy development policy, sharing Vietnam’s energy development plan and Australian best practices and technologies for developing the sector. The mission programme will also include a site visit to power plant and a series of business meetings with local companies and developers. The mission will provide a great opportunity for Australian businesses to showcase their capabilities, observe local operations, develop local insights and build a network with potential partners.
