RDA ACT - SERREE Awarded for Innovation

Regional Development Australia (RDA) ACT won the Regional Development Innovation Award in the ‘Environment and Sustainability’ category. The Award was presented at the 2017 Australian Regional Development Conference, held 11-12 September in Coffs Harbour NSW.

RDA ACT Executive Director and SERREE Director, Liz Veitch and SERREE Cluster Manager, Craig Hanicek accepted the award for RDA ACT’s SERREE initiative and Renewable Energy Trail.

The Regional Development Innovation Awards recognise and showcase innovation with nominated projects evaluated using three key criteria: Innovation and/or best practice; Process and planning; and Community needs.

The Regional Development Innovation Award was sponsored by Energy Action and presented by Coffs Harbour Mayor, Denise Knight and Energy Action Director, Caoimhin Ardren.

RDA ACT also presented at the ARDC Conference on ‘Developing a collaborative renewable energy industry cluster on regional scale to leverage economic development outcomes’, sharing the learnings from the SERREE Renewable Energy Industry Cluster initiative.

The Resource Kit presents a model that can be used by regional leaders interested in developing their region’s renewable energy industry, and thereby stimulating the resulting regional economic development benefits.
