Leeson Projects is committed to support local industry participation to the maximum extent possible with the construction of the Cohuna and Girgarre Solar Farms. In partnership with key contractors, the team will run an EOI process and industry briefing sessions to present opportunities for both projects.

About Cohuna Solar Farm

The Cohuna Solar Farm is a 34 MWp solar PV farm consisting of approximately 100,000 solar panels installed on 82.5 hectares of land 8km south of Cohuna in Victoria. The site enjoys favourable solar resource, grid connection point adjacent to the site and broad support from the local community and key stakeholders.

About Girgarre Solar Farm

The Girgarre Solar Farm is a 100 MWp solar PV farm consisting of approximately 250,000 solar panels installed on 250 hectares of land 5km west of Girgarre in Victoria. The site enjoys favourable solar resource, a strong grid connection and strong support from the local community and key stakeholders.

Construction

An EPC contractor will be appointed as the main contractor for the solar farms, which will undertake the key engineering design and procurement for the facilities. A subcontractor will be appointed for the Balance of Plant (BOP). This will include the work packages such as:

  • civil and electrical balance of plant (onsite roads, piles, buildings, electrical reticulation, etc.)
  • logistics
  • tracker and PV panel installation
  • Interconnection works.

Smaller work packages will be specified to assist with the main work packages listed above.
