Stand Alone Power Systems Course

This course is designed for electrical tradespeople.

The units covered in this course meet the requirements for Design and Install SPS Accreditation with the Clean Energy Council.

Participants will learn how to design, configure and assemble off grid systems.

Alternate sources of power such as solar, wind and hydro will be discussed and incorporated into designs.

The practical work will involve designing and installing two-three systems in our training centre or on site.

The practical tasks include:

  • Load assessment and monitoring
  • Designing and installing a 12 volt system with Dingo Regulator
  • Designing and installing an AC coupled system with Selectronics, Schneider and SMA inverters
  • Reconfiguring the system to include DC coupling
  • Designing and constructing the battery cabinet
  • Programming the system with proprietary software
  • Monitoring with off site applications

Participants must have access to the relevant Standards before the course. This is a requirement of attendance. A list will be provided on enrolment and they can be purchased from us at a discounted rate or SAI Global.

Next Canberra course delivery: 15-17 April $1980
