Regional Model

This SERREE Industry Cluster Model will document a replicable best practice model for renewable energy industry development. The best practice model will be disseminated Australia-wide in both electronic and hard copy formats through the Regional Development Australia network, industry conferences and via the SERREE Industry Cluster Web Portal. The model will include:

  • Strategies to build and engage a renewable energy network across a region that is inclusive of the broad range of stakeholders within the sector;
  • Approaches to ensure the sustainability of the renewable energy industry by facilitating collaboration and information sharing between the diversity of its stakeholders;
  • Methods to boost the regional and national profile of renewable energy initiatives while fostering community wide education, engagement and acceptance of infrastructure projects;
  • Skills training approaches to ensure courses offered are those most relevant to meet industry needs;
  • Strategies to increase local content in regional infrastructure projects to leverage local investment and local jobs;
  • A guide for activating new business, investment, market and product development opportunities across a region;
  • Industry guidelines for the development, construction and operation of renewable energy infrastructure;
  • Skills training approaches to ensure courses offered are those most relevant to meet industry needs;
  • Strategies to improve policy and regulation alignment across Commonwealth, State/Territory and Local Governments;
  • Practices to support entrepreneurs in accelerating the design, development, adoption, commercialisation and export of renewable energy technologies;
  • Learnings from global precedent for example, but not limited to, Denmark and California.
